IMO this is the best device made by JCVAP right now. The chamberless design is part of the reason. There is very little silicone in the air path compared to the proxy and that’s a good thing. Your concentrates go from the ceramic chamber, to the glass dome, through a stainless steel tube and up through the glass pipe. This is a much better path than the proxy which has silicone and plastic right up until you hit the glass pipe. With the Poby it’s not just about dab size but the flavor that comes out of this device is just incredible. It’s easy to use and requires less cleaning and maintenance than the proxy.
I hear a ton of people trying to compare the Poby and the Proxy. To me the only things that are similar is that they both start with a P and one could say that they’re shaped similarly. They’re both modular E-Rigs in my opinion and that’s where it stops. If you like taking dabs around 0.1 g or more at a time you know that this is not really possible with a Proxy unless you want to flood the chamber. With the Pony, you can literally just go to town with your dabs. You can have massive dabs and it’s not an issue. Personally I dab mostly live hash rosin and I go with about 0.1 g at a time on the green setting and it’s perfect.
The vapor production from the Poby will surprise you. They just released the Poby L 14 mm attachment for some water filtration if you like that sorta thing. The best part is that these modular attachments are actually functional with the Poby. It’s actually capable of producing enough vapor to fill a dab rig whereas the Proxy is not.
This review might seem biased but I’m also a proxy owner which I will be giving away to a friend as soon as I find a friend who likes really small dabs ð¤£.
The Poby is awesome!! I don’t think there’s a device on the market that functions this well for two or even three times the price.
